Rafael Kartaszynski, a Polish entrepreneur based in Nevada, has established a new organization poised to attract more international business to the state with the help of the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED).
Launched last May, Visionaries NV will help business owners from Poland and other countries bring their operations to Nevada.
Read on to learn how this new program will transform the Silver State’s business landscape.
Getting a Head Start in Nevada
Kartaszynki moved to the Silver State from Poland in 2019 to start his tech consulting company. According to him, he was lured to the state after attending an event for GOED’s trade mission program, which highlighted the benefits of launching a business in the state.
He would start his company, Tech Edge Developers, later that year and soon found success with the help of the lucrative connections he had made in the state.
His story is a testament to the importance of building relationships and leveraging local resources when launching a new venture. Kartasynzki quickly realized that other entrepreneurs might not have access to the same support network he did.
Kartaszynki said, “When you’re a startup, you are usually alone; when you grow your company, you’re alone.” He added, “In these cases and situations, you need mentors; you need people to talk to.”
So, he created Visionaries NV to help foreign entrepreneurs get a head start in Nevada.
Visionaries NV aims to bring together some of the state’s most creative entrepreneurs and build strategic networks. It will hold networking events, conduct case studies, and build a referral list of businesses and investors that can guide new startups to success.
Kartaszynski said, “This is about accepting people from outside the state and making it a one-stop shop for everything they need.”
Turning the American Dream into a Reality
Before the organization was launched, Poland’s National Centre for Research & Development (NCBR) and Nevada’s GOED held a Demo Day as part of the NCBR-Nevada Acceleration Program. During the event, 20 Polish tech companies presented their innovative business ideas to a panel of experts.
The top 10 contenders were invited to attend the Visionaries NV launch at UNLV’s Black Fire Innovation building, where they could explore Silver State’s offerings.
One of the participating companies is CTHINGS.CO works with businesses to develop software systems that enable remote machine maintenance and machine operations through the internet. CEO Arnold Wierzejski made the trip, hoping to see what Nevada offers his startup.
According to Wierzejski, the company has been considering establishing a US headquarters after realizing that demand for its services has grown in the US. Although he wasn’t convinced about relocating his company to Nevada, the state’s location and tax structure have proven inviting.
Wierzejski mentioned that proximity is important for the company’s operation since it has clients from different states, such as Wisconsin, Texas, and New York. “From what we hear so far, Nevada seems like a nice gateway.” Wierzejski explained, “It’s close to California and other states.”
Diversifying the Economy
Attracting foreign companies is one initiative the GOED has been actively pursuing to diversify the state’s economy.

Unfortunately, only 12 international companies have received tax abatements for relocation to the state since 2015. The GOED has also worked with 10 other international companies to bring their operations to the Silver State.
GOED’s International Business Development Director Amanda Flocchini said Visionaries NV could help accelerate their initiative by providing key support to smaller companies hoping to make the Silver State their new home.
Flocchini also mentioned that she wants GOED and Visionaries NV to focus on helping foreign companies who came to the state with long-term growth plans.
In addition, the GOED has planned to add international firms to its key industries, such as mining, lithium production, renewable energy, manufacturing, and tourism. She states, “We’re focused on creating a sustainable workforce here. So, we consider the companies that want to move here.”
Unveiling the Nevada Advantage
Flocchini stated that location and taxes are two of the primary reasons why companies are moving to Nevada. “We’re right next to California; without being in California, we have access to some of the world’s biggest ports, like Long Beach, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area.”
She added, “We don’t have personal income and franchise taxes; companies look at Nevada and go, ‘Wow, that’s nice.'”
Nevada’s business-friendly tax laws are a significant draw for companies. The state does not impose individual or corporate income taxes, allowing businesses to significantly improve their bottom line. This tax advantage, coupled with other business-friendly policies, makes Nevada an attractive destination for companies looking to establish or expand their operations.
More importantly, the Silver State is known for its strong asset protections. While LLCs and corporations have limited liability, Nevada takes it to the next level by introducing statutes like charging order protections.
A charging order is the only remedy for creditors who want to satisfy a personal debt or judgment against an LLC member or limited partner. It prevents the creditor from pursuing the LLC member’s ownership interest in the company.
Moreover, Nevada’s business court is renowned for its efficiency and expertise in handling business laws. The judges presiding over the state’s business court have extensive experience in commercial law, providing a high level of confidence and security for businesses operating in Nevada.
These are some of Nevada’s advantages that Flocchini wants foreign entrepreneurs to see. She says, “We want people to make this (Nevada) their home.”
Paving the Way for Global Success
Kartaszynski wants Visionaries NV to create a lasting impact on companies and hopes it will position Nevada as the perfect starting point for international companies hoping to enter the American market.
The initiative is poised to revolutionize the Silver State’s economic landscape by attracting lucrative global businesses and giving them the support they need to succeed. It will offer Polish companies a comprehensive suite of services, including mentorship programs, networking events, and a curated list of potential investors and business partners.
By creating a collaborative environment, Visionaries NV will effectively reduce the barriers foreign entrepreneurs could face when entering the US market.
